All pieces of nature can cut both ways. Though fire, light, and water are all indispensable to our existence, they can also be vastly destructive. God, too, is both giver and taker. His imprint in nature, then, not surprisingly has the same characteristic.
broadsword
sun, daylight is You
pinkburn sky laced grey with
presence pillars
cloud, fire is You
sea, river is You
vastblue smear flecked white with
roaring ripples
gives, provides, nourishes
holds in its belly teeming undiscovered life
but carves, etches, breaks too
long years chip ancient rock hearts
and turn dust to clay
wave, water is You
sound, music is You
whitepage song poked black with
lyric longings
all pulse, vibration, harmony
all composition, orchestration, conduction
all creation is You
